Sergeants Benevolent Association of the NYPD
Dear Fellow Sergeant,
Frontline, the SBA’s magazine is now digital. This edition features information on the SBA members who were just enshrined on the National Law Enforcement Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. during National Police Week and updates on our legislative priorities and accomplishments.
Also featured is important Health and Welfare information on Body Scan and Cancer Blood Screening Benefits and Real Estate Closings and Wills or Living Wills, as well as interesting stories on active and retired SBA members and the Mounted Unit.
You will also learn about the historical legacies of Samuel J. Battle, who was the first African American to be appointed to the NYPD, as well as the first Black Sergeant, and Gertrude Schimmel, who became the first female Sergeant after winning a 1961 lawsuit.
I hope you enjoy the magazine and feel free to contact us with any suggestions for stories in future publications. Please click the image below to view Frontline in its entirety.
Thank you for your great work and the privilege and pleasure of your continuing support.
Fraternally,
Vincent J. Vallelong
